We are currently looking for a Full Time Facilities - Building & Maintenance Worker to join our amazing team!
The schedule for this position is Sunday-Thursday 8am-4pm.

Facilities - Building Maintenance Worker is Grid 10, compensation starts at $25.95
Job Purpose:
The purpose of this position is to perform all required maintenance and repairs related to buildings, grounds, and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting and grounds-keeping.
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 10 education, plus related vocational training such as a building maintenance course. Two years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Class 5 drivers license.
- Must obtain and maintain screening through the MCFD and the Ministry of Justice.
Required Abilities:
- Ability to maintain related records and documentation maintenance logs, security incident reports.
- Ability to carry out preventative maintenance procedures for building and equipment and grounds.
- Ability to meet necessary safety security, and fire regulations.
- Ability to make recommendations to increase safety.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs including repairing furniture, constructing shelves, installing switches, replacing plugs and other basic appliance repairs, applying paint and other finishes, repairing drywall, dissembling and reassembling equipment, replacing sinks and toilets and applying finishing material such as linoleum
- Ability to clean external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks and parking lots using manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse. Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, pruning, and watering.
- Ability to remain calm and supportive within a residential home with persons served.
- Ability to oversee work performed by contractors.
- Ability to meet the physical necessity of the job including sitting and standing for long periods of time, lifting heavy loads up to 50 lbs., crawling into basements/attics, raking, shoveling, gardening, etc.
- Ability to transport equipment, furniture, and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies or carts.

Job performance must be at a satisfactory level and will be assessed in the fulfillment of above relevant job duties, including performance and evaluation reports and disciplinary records in accordance with Article 11.4(d) of the Collective Agreement.
