Our client, a growing manufacturer and distribution company located 30 minutes South of Calgary, has an immediate need for a new Accounting Manager. As the company continues to grow through organic sales, and new distribution facilities, the Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO, leading day-to-day accounting activities, supervise 2 to 3 staff and support operations with reporting.

• Preparation of accurate, timely and reliable monthly and annual financial statements.
• Work with all departments to ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year-end close.
• Monthly account reconciliations, journal entries and accruals and intracompany transactions.
• Monthly and annual variance analysis and reporting on all general ledger accounts.
• Monthly and annual capital asset addition and disposal reconciliation and continuity schedule.
• Update foreign exchange daily to ensure accurate foreign exchange transactions.
• Preparation of accurate and timely monthly and annual financial and operational reports.
• Statutory and third-party reporting including but not limited to: GST, insurance, and Statistics Canada.
• Assist with annual budget and forecasting activities.
• Responds to inquiries from the Executive Team and Managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.
• Monitors and analyzes accounting processes to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
• Assist the accounting team with day-to-day questions and provide guidance and support to accounting staff.

To qualify for this position, you will have a CPA designation, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a willingness to be hands-on, as no job goes undone. Experience with a manufacturing environment, understanding, inventory, cost of goods sold, pricing and operations reporting will be a great compliment.ERP systems experience such as Netsuite and Advanced Excel are an asset
