Job: Facilities and Maintenance

Location: 33761 Essendene Avenue, Abbotsford

Job Type: Part Time (~10-20 hours per week)

Overview: We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities and Maintenance person to join our young and energetic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of our office environment, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained workspace for all employees. This role involves regular cleaning duties, light maintenance tasks, and seasonal outdoor upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning & Sanitation:
   • Perform regular office cleaning, including vacuuming, dusting, mopping floors, and cleaning windows.
   • Maintain cleanliness in common areas such as the kitchen, fridges, and bathrooms, ensuring all spaces are sanitary and well-stocked.
   • Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
     
   • Maintain stock levels of janitorial supplies.
2. Light Maintenance:
   • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as changing furnace filters, meter readings, replacing light bulbs, and making minor repairs.
   • Identify and address maintenance issues promptly, ensuring the facility is in optimal working condition.
   • Perform minor "fix-it" tasks as needed, such as tightening loose fixtures, repairing small items, assembling items, or performing related errands.
     
3. Exterior Maintenance:
   • Keep our small exterior grounds clean and well-maintained, including picking up litter and ensuring walkways are clear.
   • Clean outside windows as necessary to maintain a neat appearance.
   • Conduct seasonal tasks such as light shoveling and salting walkways during winter months.
     
4. Emergency Response:
   • Act as the first point of contact for any facilities-related emergencies, responding promptly to help address and resolve issues.
   • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for larger maintenance or repair tasks when needed.
     

Required Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude in identifying tasks that need to be completed.
• Previous experience in facilities maintenance or janitorial services, with general home maintenance is important.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
