The Opportunity
InnPower is growing! We're seeking a highly motivated Computer User Support Technician who will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and associated software within the Corporation. The Computer User Support Technician will also be the main point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Assist with requests for information technology services, repair or support requests, complaints, and inquiries and direct to appropriate IT personnel via computer tracking system.
- Document user calls issue resolution, and related processes and procedures.
- Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from a remote location.
- Recommend changes or updates in programming, documentation, and training to address system deficiencies and user needs.
- Support common business and productivity software.
- Develop and assist in maintaining required technical documentation and knowledge base.
- Provide support to team members to ensure optimal functioning of all Information Systems.
- Make recommendations to other team members on various aspects of the IT operation to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Ensure confidentiality of customer information and company information.
- Verify functionality of hardware and software components.
- Liaise with third party hardware and software support personnel as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 3-year diploma in Computer Systems Technology or equivalent.
- 2+ years experience in computer networks.
- 2+ years experience of current operating systems.
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.
- Understanding of IT principles including Service Management.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software problems (Servers, PC, Client Server, Windows 11, Microsoft 365 etc.).
- Good understanding of networking and network security.
- Strong arithmetic and data analysis ability.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, SQL Server and cloud applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
- Excellent customer service and communications skills.
- Passion for assisting others and problem-solving.
- Capable of working independently, or collaboratively on a team.
