Southern Irrigation is actively looking for a Full-Time Service and Shop Technician for our Lethbridge location. The successful candidate should excel in customer service, have good work ethic, and a positive attitude.

Job Title: Shop/Service Technician

Location: 511-41 Street North, Lethbridge, AB

Job purpose: To troubleshoot, build, service and install pumps and other irrigation equipment.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble centrifugal, submersible and vertical lineshaft pumps
• Service pumps, motors, reels, fusers and other equipment, sometimes travelling to customer jobsites to complete or inspect
• Keep shop and service areas neat and organized
• Assist with installations; primarily in greenhouses, farms, and other growing operations by gluing fittings and components, fabricating, pulling drip lines, transporting material, troubleshooting issues and fixing them
• Assist with general maintenance of buildings, grounds, fleet and equipment
• Help with tasks as needed across logistics department, including but not limited to: receiving and loading/unloading customers and couriers
• Ensure service calls are billed, parts and labour are tracked.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and coworkers, always providing the best in quality service and value
  

Competencies

• Preference given to those with hands-on experience in any of the following: centrifugal/ submersible/vertical lineshaft pumps, motors, reels, irrigation, plumbing, electrical or similar.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Presentable, reliable and a team player
• A task-oriented individual, able to troubleshoot with a positive outlook
• Ability to identify areas for improvement and contribute solutions, with ownership thinking
