The Lifeguard/Instructor will:
- Educate the public regarding policies and procedures related to patron safety.
- Monitor patron activities in the swimming pools to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Enforce facility rules to maintain safety and proper use of facility and equipment.
- Maintain the order and proper conduct of people using the facility.
- React to emergent situations; perform first aid as required.
- Maintain public and staff safety.
- Participate in the City of Lloydminster's Safety Management System.
- Perform daily pool maintenance duties.
- Instruct swimmers in the swim for life program; teach swim skills, strokes and water safety.
- Provide a safe and learning-friendly environment for swimmers.
- Work with swimmers of all ages and abilities.
- Develop strategies to communicate with swimmers of all ages.
- Create enjoyable learning situations and experiences.
- Create lessons plans for each swim lesson.
- Maintain the attention of the children.
- National Lifeguard Certification (NL).
- Swim for Life Instructor.
- Standard First Aid/CPR C.
- Ability to maintain physical standards required of the National Lifeguard Certification; able to stand for extended periods; carry and lift; and remain attentive in noisy, disruptive, hot and cold conditions.
- Flexibility to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
