About the Role
CASA Day Programs provide individually tailored therapies through a variety of modalities, while also offering education in a small, therapeutic classroom setting. The family and care team work together to support the child or youth's social, emotional, academic and physical development. Children and youth are encouraged to strengthen their existing abilities and develop new skills. Areas of focus include social skills, academic functioning, and emotional and sensory awareness. Students attend the program daily during the school year.

The Therapy Support Navigator will:
- Provide direct consultation with families to assess individual needs.
- Assist with internal/external program referrals and applications.
- Facilitate psychoeducational student and parent groups.
- Provide support to school personnel and caregivers, identifying problems and possible solutions.
- Provide updates to team on the student's progress in school after observation sessions, as part of monthly updates.
- Schedule meetings with school personnel and parents as required.
- Help parents to become advocates for their own children on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, child and youth care, early childhood education or a related discipline such as psychology or social sciences.
- Practical experience in a children's mental health treatment setting.
- Two years of experience with navigation/transitions.
Conditions of Employment
- A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
- A satisfactory Child Intervention Check.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA), as well as physical ability to perform all interventions.
