Job Summary:Equinox Engineering is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience and at least 7 years of EPCM experience in oil and gas projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the civil/structural aspects of projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs that align with client requirements, project schedules, and budgets. SAGD experience is considered an asset. This role involves collaboration across engineering disciplines, oversight of deliverables, and providing technical guidance to ensure seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and review detailed civil and structural designs for oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Prepare and oversee technical documents, including design calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of civil/structural components with other engineering disciplines.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing.
- Manage project deliverables, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
- Perform site assessments, inspections, and support construction activities to resolve technical queries and ensure quality control.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability analyses to identify and mitigate potential challenges.
- Provide technical support during project bidding, procurement, and construction phases.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout project execution.
- Stay updated on advancements in civil/structural engineering technologies and methodologies to implement innovative solutions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in civil and structural design principles, including foundations, steel structures, concrete, and modularized systems.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of structural engineering design software such as RISA, STAAD, SAP2000, S-FRAME, MS Excel, Etc. Dyna6 experience is considered an asset.
- Project Management: Strong ability to manage the structural engineering scope for multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adhere to budget constraints while maintaining high-quality deliverables.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Proven experience in leading small engineering teams, mentoring junior engineers, and fostering collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., CSA, CISC and the national and provincial building codes). U.S. AISC and ASCE experience considered an asset.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to resolve complex engineering challenges effectively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts, prepare reports, and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision in design, calculations, and reviewing project documents to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
- Construction Support: Ability to provide technical input during construction, resolve field queries, and ensure constructability of designs.
- Adaptability: Capacity to handle dynamic project demands, including fast-paced schedules and evolving client needs.
- Safety Awareness: Commitment to implementing and adhering to safety and environmental standards in all aspects of engineering and project execution.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil or Structural Engineering (required).
- SAGD experience is considered an asset.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field considered an asset.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (required).
- Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience. Minimum 7years of EPCM experience in civil/structural design for oil and gas projects, including facilities and pipelines.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering multidisciplinary engineering projects.

- Expertise in applicable codes, standards, and practices (e.g., CSA, API, AISC, ASCE).
- Proficiency in structural analysis, load calculations, and design of steel and concrete structures.
