Position Summary:

The Driver is a field based role that is critical to Swagelok Edmonton's long term strategy of providing value added services to customers. This position involves driving a mobile inventory unit to various customer sites to manage their onsite inventor. The Driver must possess a unique set of skills and abilities in order to satisfy the responsibilities and requirements of this role. They must be customer focused and have strong written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail in order to inquire on and document customer needs. While often working alone, the Driver must be a team player in that communication with the Sales and Customer Service teams are vital to the positions long term success. A strong technical knowledge of Swagelok parts is also required in order to ensure customer inquiries are dealt with effectively. The Driver must be organized and independent since in person support is often unavailable.

Much of the Drivers work will involve inventory management software, batch management, and CRM so a strong degree of comfort with computers and technology is required. A high level of professionalism is also required since the Driver will be acting as a representative of Swagelok Edmonton including driving a branded Company vehicle. They will be required to be on the road with overnight travel Monday through Thursday.

Position responsibilities:

  • Maintains vendor managed inventories at designated customer locations
  • Manages order documentation and SAP batch tracking
  • Enters and manages inventory replenishment orders
  • Delivers product to designated customer locations
  • Analyzes and adjusts inventory levels with Key Account Manager input
  • Document customer interaction using CRM
  • Assists Drayton Valley and branch warehouse associates with picking, packing, shipping, and stocking as required and general housekeeping duties around the office
  • Documents all activities that impact the value proposition
  • Follows all safety policies and procedures for maintaining a safe work environment including applicable traffic laws

Qualifications/Skills Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be able to lift/move inventory upwards of 50 lbs
  • Merchandising Experience
  • Must hold a valid Class 3 Drivers License with air brakes (Q) and be able to drive for extended hours at a time
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, phone etiquette and speaking fluidity
  • You enjoy working independently and are self-motivated
  • You have excellent time management skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions independently
