Overall Responsibility:
Safely and efficiently operate a counterbalanced forklift, to move, load and unload materials throughout the manufacturing facility.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous forklift experience is an asset
- Positive safety record
- Good attendance record
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize work
- Strong oral communication skills
Accountabilities:
- Provide coverage for material handling duties when assigned by Supervisor
- Safely and efficiently pilot a counterbalanced fork life to move, load and unload materials in an automated manufacturing environment.
- Conduct daily inspection of the forklift and fill the inspection checklist, ensuring any safety concerns are reported promptly
- Work independently in assigned zones for each shift and manage tasks for assigned zone and other zones when required, through out the shift and also support Shipping/Receiving when required.
- Load/Unload pallets for required runs on Ablation, Soublate, Soutrac, Souring and Souspeed lines.
- Setup and unpin the pallets in Weld cell bays and remove magnets from empty bays after unloading the empty pallets
- Setup the sorting/ flipping/ combining stations when required.
- Maintain the Min and Max levels for pallets when putting them in the WIP or Finished good area.
- Organize the WIP lanes to make the best use of the floor space and participate in activities leading towards material management.
- Follow the Quality policy when handling Non conformance parts and taking them to Quarantine.
- Independently and proactively empty scrap bins throughout the facility.
- Assist with program changeovers providing assistance where necessary.
- Participate in 5S activities by collecting the edge protectors, bandings and paper from shop floor and from the bays at weld cells.
- Take the ownership in driving the truck respectfully to avoid any damage to the truck.
