Senior Purchaser
Shift: Day Shift - Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
Compensation: $60,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for the rewarding position of Senior Purchaser at Ben Machine Products will include some or all of the following:
- Run daily MRP reports showing raw material and hardware purchase requirements.
- Run daily outside service requirement reports showing outside service requirements.
- Verify quantities and descriptions, clarify unclear items and recommend alternatives.
- Obtain competitive quotes, prepare purchase orders and schedule deliveries.
- Expedite purchases and ensure materials are delivered on time.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships, including regular reviews of supplier performance reports and other metrics.
- Identify, initiate and implement purchasing improvements and costs savings through spend analysis, long-term agreements, business resourcing and other methods.
- Maintain approved vendor listings, NDAs and conflict minerals requirements.
- Maintain and update pricing and sourcing data in the ERP system.
- Assist estimating in sourcing and quoting raw materials, hardware and outside services.
- Ensure that all product and process specifications are current and approved by engineering and quality.
- Assist with the handling and expediting of non-conforming products with affected suppliers.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience:
We are looking for candidates with the following minimum experience:
- 5+ years' experience required.
- Certificate of qualification, college degree or other training in purchasing required.
- PMAC or SCMP designation/certification preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics/GP or COSS ERP preferred.
- Knowledge of best purchasing practices and methods in aerospace and manufacturing required.
- Familiarity with CUSMA, customs, export control and contract law required.
