Job Description

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Designer to produce visually engaging content that aligns with Halton Healthcare's mission, vision, and values. As a key member of the digital team, the Graphic Designer will work on a wide variety of projects, including print materials, signage, wayfinding, digital content, social media, web design, photography, branding, and more. The role involves collaboration with various teams across Halton Healthcare to develop visual communication solutions for staff, professional staff, and patients, supporting both internal and external communication efforts.

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about design, possesses a keen eye for aesthetics, and has strong technical skills. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for managing projects from concept to completion, incorporating original photography and ensuring that all visual assets elevate and reinforce the brand's identity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce high-quality visual assets for digital and print mediums, including websites, email campaigns, social media, advertisements, brochures, and event materials.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, content, and development teams to understand design requirements and translate them into compelling visuals.
  • As Brand Ambassador Develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all design deliverables.
  • Create original graphics, icons, illustrations, and other design elements that align with project goals and brand identity.
  • Assist with the preparation of presentations, infographics, and other internal or client-facing materials.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the team is always utilizing the best practices in the industry.
  • Revise designs based on feedback from team members, clients, or stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design ideas and photography concepts clearly to stakeholders
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in a corporate or healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), and other relevant design tools. Premiere Pro is consider an asset
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout composition.
  • Understanding of AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliance standards for digital content.
  • Experience creating designs for both digital (web, social media, email) and print materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present design ideas and concepts clearly to non-designers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with motion graphics or video editing (Adobe Premiere, After Effects, etc.).
  • Familiarity with front-end web development, HTML, CSS, or other web design tools.
  • A diverse portfolio that showcases experience in graphic design, photography, video editing, and motion graphics.

Additional Information

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hour day shifts (hours subject to change based on operational needs of the organization)

Salary: $36.530 to $45.690 per hour
