Position Summary:
As part of our team of professional fabricators, you will manufacture metal parts and products, to meet quality standards. Your duties include reading blueprints or technical drawings to determine how best to fabricate the required items in a timely manner. You are responsible for your output, therefore weld quality and tolerance must be maintained.
Reports to:
- The Welder-Fitter/Fabricator reports directly to the Fabrication Supervisor
Responsibilities:
- Completing delegated custom jobs under the Fabrication Supervisors supervision.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and welding specifications.
- Fit & weld assemblies as per drawings and instructions.
- Required to operate manual MIG and TIG welding machines.
- Experience with cutting, drilling, and grinding.
- All other duties and projects as assigned by management.
Skills, Abilities, and other Qualifications:
- 2+ years working experience as a Welder-Fitter/Fabricator
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Familiarity with common welding tools and procedures, including MIG welding TIG welding, metal fabricating, grinding, and finishing metals.
- Experience with sheet metal welding and fabrication
- Experience with structural steel welding and fabrication
- Stainless Steel Finishing and Polishing an Asset
- Blueprint reading and experience with measurement tools essential.
- Experience in sheet metal and plate forming.
- Experience in a custom fabrication environment.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Mechanical skills
- Analytical skills
- Math skills
- Attention to detail.
- Physical stamina with ability to lift up to 50 lbs; long period of standing, crouching, bending and walking.
