CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Plastic Packager (Extruder) (night Shift) on a full-time temporary/ contract basis (until July) to join the Vaughan location/team.

The plastic packager is responsible for manufacturing and packaging of products in the Plastic Department and for the hands-on safe operation of equipment in the assigned area/department. The operator follows standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure the productivity and quality of production.

PAY

• $18.73 per hour + $1.00 Night shift premium
• Opportunity for overtime when available

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for packaging of ladders, life rings, wheels, and other plastic parts within the Plastic Department
• Performs accurate review of work orders and meets or exceeds cycle times per work orders
• Attends all crew talk meetings
• Scan in and out of work orders using wedge scanning
• Follow daily work instructions to perform the duties assigned
• Understand all company policies and procedures and work within SOPs
• Operate small machinery or press when required
• Maintain good housekeeping practices within area of responsibility
• Reports equipment and tooling conditions, operating and maintenance recommendations to ensure safe and efficient operating state
• Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and strive for Zero-time lost accidents
• Pay special attention to all company safety SOP and equipment safety features.
• Certified in WHMIS and 4S
• Ensure Company's quality policies and procedures are followed and required PPE is worn at all times
• Provides recommendations for changes to Visual aids
• Support internal and external auditors during quality audits
• Willingness to cross train with other areas within Metal and Plastic department and to participate in training as required by company or Lead Hand
• Other duties required by Lead Hand or Plant Manager

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 years of experience as a packager in a manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of safety standards and best practices
• Basic knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability to lift up to 35lbs to 50lbs
• Basic math skills
• Basic understanding of the press machines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under limited supervision in assigned area
• Basic understanding of equipment operation and packaging
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.

HOURS:

• Monday to Wednesday, 12 hours per day to start, 7 pm to 7 am
