Are you passionate about bettering the lives and sleep of Nova Scotians all while working with an innovative and dynamic team? NovaResp Technologies (www.novaresp.ai) is looking for a passionate and driven CPAP Clinician/Research Assistant to support our ongoing research in breathing health and specifically obstructive sleep apnea. We are currently conducting multiple clinical studies requiring a driven professional to help manage this mission critical work.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of strong healthcare knowledge with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for cutting-edge research. This position will require candidate flexibility with respect to work hours as the position requires supervision and / or administration of clinic work that includes weekends. The successful candidate will also be expected to work in-office though there will be a need for, and flexibility around, working from home.
Previous knowledge of CPAP therapy is considered an asset - however, it is not a requirement. The successful candidate will receive training prior to the commencement of independent work.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients need for respiratory therapy by reviewing daily reports and patient care plans in consultation with the NovaResp team and clinical partner(s) as appropriate.
- Schedule and conduct CPAP therapy consultations and onboarding activities including device set-ups, mask fittings, and troubleshooting for patients.
- Provide continuous respiratory monitoring and support for patients throughout the duration of the study, working with the NovaResp team and clinical study partner(s).
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to generate actionable tasks and achieve study goals.
- Provide compassionate support to patients, helping them optimize their therapy.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and documentation for all patients within the study.
Qualifications
- Patient care or health experience/education would be considered an asset in this role. For example, you may be a health sciences graduate, long term care worker, licensed respiratory therapist or nurse (RN or LPN), etc.
- Ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be an effective team contributor and collaborator.

- Flexible mindset is necessary especially regarding work schedule. We expect the successful candidate to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the expectations of this position.
