The Opportunity
The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive technology solutions that address specific business needs. The Solutions Architect will serve as a liaison between technical and business aspects to ensure the solutions meet organizational goals. With a deep understanding of various technologies, solution architects work closely with stakeholders, developers, and other IT professionals to create a cohesive and efficient system that meets the needs of the business.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting in the establishment of an IT Architecture practice, and the adoption of an architecture and standards methodology.
- Manages activities that take place during solution ideation, solution design, and solution implementation.
- Communicates the architecture to the stakeholders and collaborates and coordinates the formalization and adoption of IT standards and procedures.
- Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership.
- Defining and documenting the overall solution architecture.
- Working together with stakeholders to comprehend their needs and requirements.
- Evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and platforms for the solution.
- Developing and maintaining architectural standards and best practices.
- Ensuring that the solution meets performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Providing technical guidance and support to development teams.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues related to the solution.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of the solution and its components.
- Directly assists in the development of a solutions architecture program including departmental roadmaps and project portfolios for IT systems architecture.
- Assures solutions not only are a fit for the specific purpose but also closely align with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
- Influences changes to standards when necessary.
- Supports the architectural aspects of all application projects in peer IT portfolios.
- Develops and executes solutions which further reduce the percentage of time spent on reactive work.
- Provides analysis of security protection technologies as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- 7+ years of Information Technology experience, with some direct experience managing IT operations.
- 5 + years in Solutions Architecture and project management.
- Bachelors and/or Diploma in Technology/Computer Science (or Business Administration).
- Project Management certification is an asset.
- Holds sound understanding of IT technology concepts and software architectures, MS products, development tools, Office 365, etc.
- Experience working with customer/ member relationship database systems (or similar) in a regulatory environment is an asset.
- Experience working with e-commerce platform systems (or similar) in a regulatory environment is an asset.
- Understanding and working knowledge of web-based customer focused applications.
Salary Range: $95,655 - $137,504 per annum with a midpoint of $119,569 per annum.
Upon hire, new employees will be placed in a starting salary between the minimum and P50 (midpoint) of the salary range. The P50 of the range represents an employee that possesses full job knowledge, qualifications, and experience for the position.
