Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to join our QA team as a QA Coordinator. In this role, youll manage critical aspects of our quality assurance program, including liaising with government agencies, coordinating food safety audits, and providing technical support to customers and internal teams. Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily taste testing of seafood products to ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
  • Regularly travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites to pick up and drop off product samples for quality testing and analysis.
  • Oversee and organize all documentation related to the QA program.
  • Liaise with government agencies regarding food import and export regulations.
  • Manage and ensure the validity of import and export licenses.
  • Offer scientific and technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Review and authorize invoices related to the QA program.
  • Coordinate and analyze inspection results to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of food safety audits and reports.
  • Lead the coordination of corrective action plans in response to non-compliance issues.
  • Provide support and act as a backup for other QA team members when needed.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints related to quality assurance matters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education in Food Science or Food & Nutrition preferred.
  • Relevant experience in quality assurance or food safety is an asset.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze reports and communications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for providing technical support to both customers and internal teams.
  • Proficient in basic math concepts, with strong spreadsheet and general computer skills.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, with good judgment in managing crisis situations.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. during inspections as needed.
  • Must have access to a vehicle for frequent travel between warehouses and suppliers.
