Reporting to the Engineering & Construction Manager and Superintendent, this field-based position is to be a technical asset to the engineering and construction teams. The EIT's primary tasks are to data entry and analysis, review and analyze technical and regulatory information provided by the client, and work with field crews to determine how best to interpret and act on that information given the actual conditions found during construction.
Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customer and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.
  2. Maintain and promote a strong environmental compliance culture for all employees, vendors, and customers. Understand and fulfil the environmental roles and responsibilities of the position, as described in applicable plans, procedures, permits, laws, and regulations
  3. The ability to interpret Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and perform takeoffs
  4. Development of project specific procedures, with guidance from senior construction personnel
  5. Ensuring all written forms of writing or drafting/technical communication is clear and easy to understand
  6. Interfacing with subcontractors and vendors for pricing and schedule development
  7. Ability to use using AutoCAD and/or Civil3D is considered an asset
  8. Proficiency in using MS Excel is a necessary asset
  9. Other duties as required
Requirements:
  • Civil, Mechanical, or other Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of related experience

BENEFITS
The target salary range: $69,000-$76,000 CAD per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience and internal equity.
