Salary: $46,903 annually (Level 4), plus comprehensive benefits

The Recruitment and Outreach Worker, as part of the YWCA Women in Trades and Technology programs team, will contribute to quality service delivery and achievement of Pre-apprenticeship, Apprenticeship and/or Reskilling trades programs goals, by conducting the recruitment and outreach activities for the WiTT program. The incumbent is required to maintain an effective working relationship with employers, training partners, community organizations and the general community, in accordance with the mission and policies of YWCA Toronto.
ABOUT YWCA WOMEN IN TRADES AND TECHNOLOGY
The Women in Trades and Technology programs provide training and employment service to women and gender diverse people interested in joining the construction, landscape and information technology industries. Programs are funded by MTCU (Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities) and are geared to educate women and gender diverse people about career opportunities in non-traditional occupations and train them in trades-specific programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Co-ordinates information sessions, special promotions and marketing activities designed to increase participant intake, and increase awareness of benefits of women working in male-dominated skilled trades;
  • Applies targeted marketing strategies to ensure recruitment of eligible participants and to promote the program on site, off site and online;
  • Works closely with the Counsellor, Facilitator, Coach and the Manager for coordinating, planning and implementing of networking and outreach activities to employers;
  • Identifies employers who are willing to offer paid or unpaid placements, design work placements and facilitate employer incentives in skilled trades in collaboration with the WiTT team;
  • Collaborates with other team members in pre-screening clients' eligibility and assisting clients with intake forms completion;
  • Designs and delivers presentations to employers, community agencies, educational institutions, social service communities and trade partners to promote the program and ensure appropriate referrals;
  • Assists with advertisement of outreach and intake events and booking and pre-screening of potential participants;
  • Coordinates the maintenance of the website activities, social media and related content;
  • Develops and maintains a system to track outreach stats, activities, attendance and generated results;
  • Conducts follow up calls with training seekers to arrange for program intake or enrollment in training, job fairs or other events.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • In-depth knowledge of Marketing, Communications or Public Relations which is normally acquired through completion of a college diploma;
  • Must possess excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), E-mail, the Internet, Zoom, MS Teams or other videoconferencing applications, database programs, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat;
  • 1-3 years of experience in related field;
  • Strong knowledge of social media and website technologies is required;
  • Experience with multimedia and events planning an asset;
  • Good organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to think strategically, plan ahead and anticipate needs and issues;
  • Demonstrated good judgement and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to maintain a positive approach and a professional manner at all times;
  • Owning a motor vehicle an asset.
