Assistant Controller
Position Overview:
Lambert Nemec Group, Manitoba's premier specialized recruitment firm, partners with a well-established, growing Winnipeg-based company to find an Assistant Controller to join their dynamic finance team. This is an incredible opportunity for a motivated, ambitious finance professional to make a significant impact in a collaborative and thriving organization. In this role, you support the Controller with cost analysis, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, and high-visibility special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of internal financial analysis and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Communicate business performance results to finance and non-finance teams, fostering transparency and collaboration.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process by working closely with cross-functional teams to align financial goals.
- Lead and mentor a small team of designated and non-designated accountants, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Spearhead the development and implementation of streamlined accounting processes, driving automation and minimizing risk.
- Play a key role in the month-end close process, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in preparing for and completing the annual audit with precision and insight.
- Take on exciting ad-hoc projects as needed, contributing to the company's ongoing success and growth.
Requirements:
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing.
- 1-2 years of post-designation experience, with a strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical abilities and intermediate proficiency in MS Excel.
- Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- A proactive and results-driven mindset, eager to contribute to team success and company growth.
