Full-Cycle Bookkeeper/Accountant
Position Summary: The Full-Cycle Bookkeeper/Accountant plays a critical role in maintaining the organization's financial integrity. This position involves managing the entire accounting cycle, including recording daily transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. The role requires ensuring accuracy in financial records, compliance with tax regulations, and the ability to support the companys financial decision-making processes. This position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
General Accounting
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll and general ledger entries.
- Ensure accuracy in recording daily transactions, expenses, and revenues.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
Financial Reporting
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement reporting, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Support management decision-making by actively participating in team meetings and taking a proactive approach within the job scope.
Tax Compliance
- General understanding of GST/HST, PST, QST and Corporate Tax.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, financial regulations (CRA), and accounting standards (GAAP).
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process daily AP transactions and reconcile monthly vendor accounts.
- Invoicing within a high volume transactional based operation, ensuring timely collections of outstanding AR.
Other Duties
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as requested.
- Provide administrative support to the finance team, if necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years experience with accounts receivable/accounts payable
- Proven experience as a Full-Cycle Bookkeeper or Accountant.
- Proficiency with accounting software/ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
