Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead our residential and commercial market initiatives in Ontario. This role involves building relationships with a variety of industry stakeholders including contractors, home builders, engineers, policy makers, manufacturers and utility companies. This is an exciting opportunity for a person with the right mix of motivation, technical knowledge and sales ability to help grow the business.

Your goal is to generate new business opportunities in mid-to-large scale commercial and residential projects by actively pursuing new and existing partners. With the support of local EMCO HVAC Profit Centers and InnTech Project Engineers, you will develop sales plans, create marketing materials, prepare proposals, conduct sales meetings, attend site visits and deliver technical training/presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of HVAC products, systems and their applications.
  • Support customer inquiries with technical guidance on HVAC products and installations.
  • Create project proposals with strong value propositions.
  • Manage and grow a pipeline of prospects, tracking progress and performance.
  • Engage with public and private industry stakeholders through tradeshows, webinars, training, and 1-on-1 meetings to examine market opportunities and generate new leads.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships with key vendor partners, EMCO profit center teammates, HVAC contractors, engineers, developers/builders and other industry partners.
  • Conduct site visits and collect pertinent information required to conduct heat transfer and ventilation calculations to accurately size and select new HVAC systems for existing buildings.
  • Communicate project requirements between project stakeholders and InnTech project engineers.
  • Grow the InnTech brand through social media platforms, tradeshow attendance, promotional material, and creation of new sales resources.
  • Interpret engineer drawings and work with project engineers to complete bid package proposals.
  • Deliver creative financial solutions/models to help secure new business.
  • Conduct market research to provide recommendations on new products, services, energy efficiency programs and market trends to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand and follow all safety regulations at all customer locations and EMCO profit centers.
  • Work remotely or from one of our offices with occasional travel to job sites and business meetings.
  • Report on sales activities, pipeline development, and market feedback to senior management.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • College diploma or University degree in business, marketing, engineering, architecture, building science, or HVAC trades.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth and market expansion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Must work well independently (with little to no supervision) and in a team setting.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License with clean abstract and willingness to travel within GTA and Southern Ontario.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
  • Experience in the construction, plumbing, or HVAC industry is an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates with experience in HVAC technical sales and business development.
  • Experience working with contractors, builders, and/or engineers and understanding their business models.
  • Familiarity with Ontario's construction market and key players.
  • Experience with Monday.com
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of air source/ground source/water source/heat pumps, ERV's/HRV's, hydronics, commercial ventilation, VRF systems, or refrigeration systems.
  • Having any of the following certifications is considered an asset: BCIN, HRAI HVAC design certifications, LEED, CEA, CRE, CEM, CET, CMVP, P. Eng
