The Role

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for working independently and in teams on the installation of new industrial equipment, fabrication of parts, and performing repairs to mills, conveyor belts, hydraulic and pneumatic components, PLCs, bearings, gears, shafts, and large machinery such as tanks.

This position offers daytime shifts Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and the ability to work with a great collaborative team!

Responsibilities

• Following blueprints and schematics on the fabrication of parts and installation of new industrial equipment
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Complete maintenance reports
• Test the accuracy and safety of production machinery
• Abide by company policies and procedures
• Provide strong solutions to improve productivity within the plant

Requirements

• 4+ years of previous preventative maintenance experience in an industrial setting working with material handling systems
• Industrial Mechanic Journeyman Millwright ticket is a strong asset
• MIG welding and fabrication experience. CWB is a strong asset!
• Forklift and transportation equipment experience
• Ability to work well independently and in teams, having open communication with other technicians from different trades
• Strong communication skills to be able to administrate projects and request machine part specifications for maintenance
• Understanding of lock-out processes
• Clean driver's abstract

Compensation

• $38 to $42 an hour with an opportunity for negotiation for the right candidate
• 100% paid premiums, 80% medical coverage
• RSP matching premiums after work anniversary starting at 2% match
