Our Next Senior Consultant - Hydrogeology...
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Consultant in Hydrogeology to join our Water Stewardship team. This role will provide senior leadership and technical oversight on hydrogeological studies, modelling, and fieldwork. As a Senior Consultant in Hydrogeology, you will help grow Okanes Water Stewardship team and contribute to mentoring both direct reports and junior staff. Also, you will foster and maintain effective client relationships while identifying innovative opportunities to position Okane as a leader in integrated mine closure and mine planning. This position will be in our offices in Saskatoon, Calgary, Cranbrook, Brisbane or Perth with remote options available in Vancouver and Montral.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee hydrogeological studies, assessment, and field programs.
- Provide technical expertise for a variety of projects by collaborating with subject matter experts to enhance knowledge and skills in the development and review of conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models, which can also include conducting physical and chemical hydrogeology studies and assessments.
- Supporting groundwater permitting and contributing to groundwater remediation.
- Collaborate closely with Okanes Water Stewardship team and other Solution Categories to enhance Okanes integrated mine closure and planning expert services.
- Provide senior technical review and input to project teams, ensuring core processes and technical standards are followed.
- Act as an Engineer/ Scientist of Record, as necessary.
- Support and guide clients through regulatory and permitting processes.
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
- Foster and maintain effective client and regulator relationships and networks.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to direct reports and Okane employees.
- Prepare and review advanced technical documentation and reports that meet project requirements.
- Lead, review and/or provide support for detailed work scopes and proposals of varying complexity in technical expertise.
- Lead project coordination and budgeting.
- Encouraging ongoing improvements by identifying innovative opportunities that will help grow the Water Stewardship team and establish Okane as an industry leader.
Job Requirements
- Expertise in hydrogeology, including conceptual and numerical modeling, as well as studies and assessments in physical and chemical hydrogeology.
- Strong knowledge of regulations, codes and standards, including permitting procedures and practices, is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills business and technical writing.
- Possess leadership skills and abilities, including communication, accountability, honesty, empathy, creativity, responsibility, and flexibility.
- Experience and aptitude for multidisciplinary work and dynamic team environments.
- Interact competently with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of expertise.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills business and technical writing.
