Site Coordinator Summary

Step into a role that offers the opportunity to sharpen your organizational and coordination skills while playing a vital part in bringing construction projects to life. As a Site Coordinator, you'll collaborate closely with the Site Manager and Project Manager, orchestrating the efforts of multiple trades to achieve seamless project delivery.

Additionally, you'll play a key role in maintaining site health and safety standards, ensuring a safe environment for all team members. This position challenges you to develop expertise in time management, problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork as you help ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet all specifications outlined in the project scope. It's more than a job — it's a chance to grow into a pivotal player in the construction management process.

What we're looking for:

Project Management

  • Provides support for all operations of the job site, ensuring minimal disruptions to project progress and coordinating all aspects tying into the overall completion of the project
  • Assists in overseeing all employees on the job site to ensure work is carried out efficiently, responsibly, and with attention to quality and detail
  • May be responsible for delegating responsibilities to various team members to ensure all tasks are handled appropriately
  • Putting into practice excellent problem-solving skills to address unforeseen disruptions and issues that continuously arise

Health and Safety

  • Striving to cultivate an onsite culture in which health and safety is always top of mind
  • Enforcing health and safety policies and procedures through appropriate training, communication, and discipline
  • Continuously walking the site to observe potential risks, hazards, and safety violations
  • Providing guidance and direction to employees consistently to ensure they are performing their work safely
  • Participating in safety orientation meetings
  • Documenting health and safety-related details including training, violations, and hazards, and logging in the daily report along with relevant pictures or other attachments

Administration

  • Reviewing drawings and flagging any potential errors
  • Completing a daily summary report including details regarding health and safety, employees on site, daily progress, etc. to log project progress
  • Overseeing the filing and administrative component onsite to ensure the team is documenting, logging, and filing appropriately

Environment, Pace, and Challenges

  • Fast paced with lots of pressure to deliver profitable projects on time and on budget
  • Dealing with challenging issues with sub-contractors
  • Required to work hard to meet deadlines and take project related calls at all hours including evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Very high level of autonomy

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • 0-2 years construction experience in the field
  • Educational and experience requirements include a Construction related university/college degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
  • Experience overseeing the construction of a site from start to finish
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
