Employment Type:Permanent Full-Time (35 hours per week)

Job Summary:

The Program Officer contributes to the wellness, social wellbeing, and lifelong learning of older adults through supporting S.U.C.C.E.S.S.s seniors membership groups and seniors academy.

Reports To:Program Director

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops andmaintainsa supportive relationship with existing and new senior clientsaccessingprogramactivities
  • Facilitates and supports volunteer led seniors group meetings and activities
  • Schedulesand organizesin-person and online social and lifelong learning activities
  • Recruits and works with volunteers and staff tosupport program activities
  • Organizes seasonal celebrations,showcases, festivities,and events
  • Maintainsaccuratemembership,clientand programactivityrecords according to funder, agency, and evaluation needs
  • Compilesmonthly, quarterly,and annual programreports andstatisticsasrequired
  • Ensures program activitiesand practicesadhere to overall agency standards and policies
  • Implementschanges and improvements totheprogramin line with program targets
  • Develops relationshipswith key internal and external stakeholders
  • Supports other community eventshosted by the division
  • Performs otherrelated duties as required byProgram Director

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Health, Education, or related discipline (social work preferred). Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • A minimum of 1 (one) year of experience in delivering services in a community-based seniorservice setting, preferably for multi-ethnic older adults
  • Experience working with diverse client populationgroups
  • Experience working with older adultpopulations
  • Experience in supervising and working withvolunteers
  • Experience witha diverseclientele and immigrant related services
  • Occupational First Aid Certificationisan asset

Job Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellentwrittenand verbalcommunication skills
  • Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarinisan asset
  • Excellent organizational and time managementskills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to excellence in service delivery
