Ray-Mont Logistics is currently seeking a permanent full time Bulk/Bagging Plant Operator to join its vibrant team. The Bulk/Bagging Plant Operator will be responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in all aspects of bulk material handling. Work Schedule :12 hour shifts (3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off). It may vary according to company needs.
Main Responsibilities:
Bagging Operations:
- Connect , start/stop vacuum system and disconnect hoses to railcars, identifying seal numbers, removing caps, placing catch trays underneath the hopper and installing filters. Clean any spills that occur immediately. As Per SOP
- Check bags as they come off bagger to ensure proper sealing at welded seams.
- Count and refill supplies on the line as needed running production (pallets, slipsheets, stretch film, topsheet, ink, etc.)
- Keep workspace clean and free of any slipping or tripping hazards.
- Load pallets into container once completed on the line using a forklift, as per SOP
- Transload supplies into the bagging facility using a forklift.
- Perform other tasks that will vary as per company needs.
Bulk Operations:
- Open doors and inspect empty containers placed on tippers, load containers as per SOP
- Once loaded, tip container back down at 45 degrees. Stop and fold the cardboard in followed by 5 2x4s to complete the bulkhead. Seal the doors, as per SOP
- Maintain cleanliness around the pit, tipper, and inside of the plant.
- Load supply containers when empty or close too empty with lumber and cardboard.
- Perform other tasks that will vary as per company needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Good communication skills; Must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.
- Physically in shape: The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus
- Previous experience operating equipment (forklift, bobcat) is an asset.
- Ability to work under pressure, time constraints and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines.
- Valid BC Drivers license and have their own method of transportation (cant rely on rides).
- Clean record (attendance, and warnings)

*** Must have access to your own vehicle and a valid driver's license as the terminal is not accessible by public transportation.
Work Environment :Must be willing to work outdoors throughout all weather conditions
