As the Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Analyst, you'll support our Finance and leadership team in researching and evaluating acquisition opportunities. You'll be involved in all stages of the acquisition process, from preliminary analysis to post-close reporting, ensuring that our strategic initiatives are well-informed and effectively executed. This role requires agility, critical thinking, and strong communication skills.
As the first M&A Analyst on our team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our acquisition strategies and expanding our reach. Your challenge will be to bring fresh insights and build strong relationships across departments, helping us pursue growth with clarity and precision.

Job Responsibilities:
- Identify potential targets.
- Analyze and evaluate acquisition opportunities across Canada, primarily in Ontario and the GTA, alongside senior leaders.
- Assist in creating initial financial models to assess acquisitions and divestitures.
- Conduct research and initial exploration with targets, getting to know them well to provide key insights for decision-makers.
- Look at comparable transactions to provide insights
- Build rapport with key stakeholders and contribute to business development efforts.
- Develop presentations summarizing analysis, findings, and recommendations.
- Monitor industry trends and identify potential new business opportunities.

Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience in M&A, private equity, corporate finance or a related area.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
- One or a combination of MBA, CFA, and CPA are a huge plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP and/or financial planning tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to present data clearly.
- Ability to travel as needed and flexible availability for key deadlines.
- Experience or knowledge of AI solutions a plus.
