Our client, Mission Superwash Inc., is a well-established business that has been serving the Kelowna community with touchless and self-serve car wash options for over 20 years. With the upcoming retirement of their current manager, they are seeking a Car Wash Manager with equipment maintenance experience to lead and contribute to the success of their team.

As the successful candidate, you will oversee all daily operations, maintain equipment, hire and train great people and ensure that they are well supported, and provide exceptional customer service. Your strong electrical and mechanical aptitude will contribute to your ability to step in and keep things running smoothly. As a proven people leader, you will take ownership of the business and lead the way in creating a strong team culture and an appreciative work environment.

A day in the life of this position will include operating the car wash while providing strong customer service, managing cash, troubleshooting mechanical challenges, performing human resources tasks such as recruitment of new team members and retention efforts for existing team members. This position provides a great combination of duties split evenly between hands-on work (mechanical/electrical/working with tools) and customer service. Your ability to work alone and multi-task throughout the day will lead to success in this role.

This full-time position (40 hours/week) is based in Kelowna, BC, and offers a competitive compensation package. Our client anticipates offering a base salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 per year based on related experience and mechanical aptitude, plus a performance bonus of approximately $3,000-$5,000 per year. The role can be performed Monday to Friday (8 AM – 4 PM) or Monday to Saturday (8 AM – 2 PM), providing flexibility to suit your schedule.


Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintain clean, well-functioning facilities and equipment to ensure consistent mechanical performance and optimal operating conditions;
  • Oversee and complete all daily operational activities;
  • Manage employee scheduling to ensure optimal coverage and profitability;
  • Direct and supervise employee tasks;
  • Manage sales, inventory, maintenance, cleaning, and site inspections;
  • Provide employees with support and leadership;
  • Foster a positive environment by proactively addressing claims and concerns and maintaining strong relationships within the team and with customers;
  • Ensure team safety and asset protection by identifying, addressing, and mitigating risks;
  • Manage all aspects of health & safety to ensure compliance with provincial legislation and maintain a strong safety culture;
  • Completes other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in maintaining and troubleshooting car wash (or similar) equipment;
  • Ability to lead a team with professionalism, motivate others, and communicate respectfully;
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities;
  • Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic;
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect and build relationships with others;
  • Dedication to providing high-quality customer service;
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment;
  • Outstanding organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy;
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential to this role;
  • This position may require occasional evening or weekend work.
