Job Description

Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards in Cobourg, ON.

Position: Security Professional

Type: Full Time

Location: Cobourg, ON

Shift: Continental Rotation

Schedule: 19:00- 07:00

Overview:

Allied Universal is hiring experienced Security Professional for our operations in Cobourg, ON. The ideal candidate will be a skilled security professional with strong communication abilities, willing to work rotating shifts, and able to thrive in a collaborative security team. If you have previous experience as a Security Guard, enjoy patrolling, and uphold a high standard of professionalism, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team to de-escalate aggravated situations or individuals
  • Ensure the safety of residents by monitoring their activities and responding to any signs of distress or unusual behavior
  • Perform routine patrols of the property (internal and external) to monitor activities and ensure the security of designated areas.
  • Control access to the premises by checking identification, credentials, and authorizations of individuals entering the facility.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and incidents and provide the necessary assistance.
  • Maintain detailed reports of daily activities, irregularities, and any incidents that occur during the shift.
  • Ensure compliance with security and safety regulations by staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in security, healthcare, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

  • Open availability for rotational shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.
  • Must be able to reliably commute to the location
  • Ability to operate technology and wireless communication systems at client-specific sites.
  • Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
  • First Aid and CPR
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
  • Physically capable of standing or walking for long periods, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting or carrying up to 20 kilograms.
