This role is a hybrid position involving tasks carried out at various Retirement Communities, Support Offices, and Personal Home Offices.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the end-to-end recruitment life cycle from drafting job postings, candidate search, screening, selection, references, and offers through to closing and placement for all management roles,
- Maintain targeted interview guides that identify candidates with top skills, knowledge, and abilities that best meet role requirements,
- Ensure recruitment activity is updated regularly in the ATS, reporting on hiring metrics, trends, successes, and challenges,
- Define and execute innovative search tactics using industry best practices to attract qualified candidates, both internally and externally,
- Independently source and gather supply and demand insights to attract candidates
- Build campus relationships with key stakeholders,
- Oversee and maintain the performance management review process (IDP) at the Communities,
- Provide strategic support regarding succession planning, leadership development, and workforce planning,
- Oversee the employee survey processes including the annual employee engagement survey, exit & onboarding, and on-demand surveys. Analyze trending and partner with Home/Community leadership to support action plans,
- Support all HHR matters including interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, compensation, performance management, leadership development, and engagement & well-being,
- Gather and report on key HHR metrics identified by the business and provide recommendations for continuous improvement(s),
- Any and all other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:
- University/College degree in Human Resources Management, Labour/Industrial Relations, or other related discipline,
- Holds or is working towards the Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL), CHRP, or equivalent designation from the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA),
- 3+ years experience in Human Resources and Labour/Industrial Relations,
- Experience in Senior Living is an asset,
- Knowledge and proven ability to provide advice to Community leadership on the application of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act,
- Must also have experience in areas of talent acquisition, employment law, attendance management, performance management, leadership development, accommodation/modified work placements, conflict resolution, displacements/terminations,
- Ability to coach, guide, and counsel managers and team members across all levels of the business unit,
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal,
- Experience in leveraging new technology and emerging processes such as HRIS/LMS platforms,
- Demonstrate good judgment, discretion, and sensitivity to confidentiality,
- Excellent time management, a sense of urgency, and attention to detail is critical,
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, and resourcefulness with a high degree of initiative,
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and matrix-led environment,
- Must possess an Ontario Driver's License and the ability to travel within Ontario
