The Pastry cook will assist with daily hands-on production and presentation of a wide range of products made from scratch in the kitchen of The Pointe Restaurant. The Pastry Cook will also assist in maintaining the highest level of culinary excellence.

As a Pastry Cook you will:
- Ensure efficient and personalized guest service, meeting and exceeding Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond, and Forbes Standards.
- Be passionate about your craft, love food, and love fresh ingredients!
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Create visually appealing and delicious pastries that enhance our guests' dining experience.
- Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency and timely delivery of products.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and develop new pastry items and seasonal offerings.
- Manage inventory of baking ingredients and supplies, ensuring freshness and proper storage.
- Assist in the preparation and presentation of pastries for special events and functions.
- Stay informed about current pastry trends and techniques to bring innovative ideas to our menu.
- Manage special requests, dietary requirements, and menu changes. Maintain records of food, supplies, and equipment.
Our ideal candidate will embody the West Coast culture, while still being committed to the art of hospitality and pursuit of excellence. They will have:
- The willingness to learn in a team environment while striving to exceed Relais & Chateaux, AAA 4 & 5 Diamond and Forbes Standards.
- Excellent guest service skills and demonstrated enthusiasm and talent for exceeding guest expectations.
- Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
- Minimum 1-year previous experience in a fine dining establishment or similar.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast paced working environment, and creative problem-solving skills.
- A positive and proactive approach and an ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proven experience as a pastry cook or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of pastry items.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, pastry decoration, and dessert presentation.
- The ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a passion for pastry arts.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
A mutual understanding of your employment duration will be determined during your interview.
Salary/Wage: $20.00 per hour
