Position Description:

To assist members of the Human Resources team in various functional areas such as:

  • Prepare documentation for Corporate training sessions.
  • Assist in minute taking for HR related meetings
  • Data entry of statistical information, training records and employee files.
  • Organize Request to Attend documents.
  • Create and Distribute First Aid/CPR Posters.
  • Preparation of various correspondence.
  • Daily mail sort and distribution for HR staff.
  • Answer the HR door and phone and respond or direct the call accordingly.
  • Assist in the recruiting and short-listing of applicants for vacant positions.
  • Assist closing recruitment files
  • Prepare the initial staffing requisitions and job postings.
  • Researching information for a variety of policies and reports.
  • Assist with HR projects, as required.
  • File in accordance with records management policies.
  • Complete annual file room audit review
  • Create FileTrail Labels as well as accommodation and WSIB files
  • Distribute Green books/first aid guides as required
  • Prepare and print staff recognition certificates
  • Provide assistant coordinating the corporate summer BBQ.
  • Assist with staff development projects such as the summer book club
  • Daily office administration, as required.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College program in Human Resources, Public Administration/Political Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration or Legal program.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, accept and follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties to an acceptable level of quantity and quality with minimal supervision and follow all of Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
  • Must have Class G2 Driver's License - as occasional travel may be required
  • Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively

Note:

Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term

At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.

Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment

Interviews will be held in the month of February 2025.

Benefits

Rate: $18.92 per hour

Location: 95 Culver Street, Simcoe, ON

Hours: 35 hours per week

Posting Period: December 2, 2024 – January 31, 2025

Duration:

The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months. Applicants are expected to fulfill the entire contract period commencing April 30, 2025 until August 29, 2025.
