About the Role:

The Technical Director reports directly to the Vice President of Asset Management.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Management of all technical requirements for on/off lease aircraft.
  • Arrange, control, negotiate and ensure on time aircraft (re)-deliveries within the approved budget.
  • Responsible for providing technical input for contractual decisions relating to lease/sale deliveries, lease returns, aircraft repossession and aircraft purchases.
  • Liaise with customers on technical/contractual aspects of leased aircraft.
  • Management and tracking of the assets' major components (Props and Gear), APU.
  • Assist the Engine Asset Director as required.
  • Review and approve maintenance reserves events, and related work scopes for overhaul or exchange of components.
  • Create forecast and budget for maintenance reserve events.
  • Responsible for carrying out annual technical audits on leased aircraft.
  • Assist with the marketing and operations departments during aircraft transitions.
  • Analyze and recommend operational and commercial terms for aircraft and engine leases and purchases.
  • Recommend and implement procedural changes compliance with covenants, reporting requirements, return conditions and other terms, and timely and accurate execution of all financial obligations.
  • Complete formal and informal staff performance reviews.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to address any staffing issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 5+ years' experience in a senior leadership role managing aircraft maintenance or aircraft fleet.
  • Previous experience managing technical requirement for aviation assets and / or management role in an international environment.
  • Possess the aptitude to quickly understand our client's business and operational activities and capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a multi-cultural business environment with international customers.
  • Be resourceful with a flexible outlook and have the ability to effectively handle competing priorities
  • Solid organization skills, with ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines.
