The position will work closely with Whitecaps FC and its partners to lead Whitecaps FC Kootenay East BMO Academy Centre programming, executing on key deliverables as part of any service agreements between these organizations.
Specific Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
- On-field coaching
- Strategic planning (technical)
- Program enhancement and building
- Coach development, education and support
- Program Administration
- Technical Structure and Management
- WFC Academy Centre program delivery
Qualifications/Experience:
In addition to bringing a commitment to Vancouver Whitecaps FC vision and values, the successful candidate will have degrees of demonstrated skills and experience as follows:
- Minimum Canada Soccer/Concacaf B License or international equivalent (Can also be in the process of receiving) with the expectation and process in place to achieve an A license.
- Previous leadership experience within a club or academy, including working with club staff and directly managing, mentoring, and supporting the development of coaches at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively implement the age/stage appropriate player and coach development standards outlined in Canada Soccers LTPD model and Club Licensing framework into academy and club programming.
- Experience working within an integrated club infrastructure, with a centralized youth talent identification strategy, player development philosophy and training methodology.
- Understanding of the club, district, provincial and national soccer landscapes, and governance models.
- Experience coaching male and female players of all ages in grassroots and high-performance environments.
- Experience managing technical budgets and associated cost management and reporting.
- An ability to think and plan strategically, and effectively link technical planning with broader Club goals and strategic intent.
- Strong communications skills and an ability to convey technical planning to nontechnical Club stakeholders, including the parents of players.
- A team player, with an ability to operate as part of an integrated multifunctional team.
