DOF Subsea Canada is currently seeking multiple candidates for Electro Technical Officer positions to work on Canadian Flagged Offshore Support Vessels starting long term contracts supporting client activities on the Grand Banks in Q1 2025. Offshore work schedule will be based on a 28-day rotation. We are looking for a motivated and hardworking seafarer who has the passion for a career at sea. A key to success for this position is the ability to collaborate with offshore and onshore personnel. Tasks can include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical support for diagnostics and repair of electrical/electronic systems and DP reference systems currently in place along with new installations;
  • Participating in FMEA and annual DP trials;
  • Participating in maintenance periods in port and in dry dock;
  • Promote correct HSEQ behavior through personal example

Requirements

Education and Certificate Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • STCW MED Basic Safety Certification
  • Marine Basic First Aid
  • Valid Seafarers Medical
  • Valid Canadian Passport

Experience / Knowledge:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a Marine Electronics Technician Position with a proven track record in the industry, including experience with frequency drives, marine navigational electronics/DP systems, power management systems;
  • Strong understanding of PLC's, engine, generator, propulsion and control systems;
  • Demonstrates strong trouble shooting and fault finding, automation and control skills;
  • Possess a high commitment to customer service and safe working practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. A high-level knowledge of Transport Canada, and all applicable legislative requirements for operating vessels in Canada
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Capable of discussing issues and topics of importance at every level
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
