Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: $100,033 to $125,171 annually (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Permanent Full-Time

Qualifications

Position Summary

The Manager, Digital is responsible for local IT Operations and Information Management activities, including such areas as service management, strategic planning/prioritization, communications, project management and incident management at UHN's West Park Healthcare Centre site. The Manager, Digital manages site-based technical resources and is challenged with the management of service issues and mitigation of risks that require resource collaboration. Further, the Manager is responsible for working with vendors, management, and stakeholders both inside and outside of Digital to sustain operational and tactical initiatives that will further the IM/IT vision of UHN Digital, the West Park site, and the broader UHN organization.


Duties

  • Oversee site-specific IT service delivery for the West Park Healthcare Centre site
  • Oversee site specific IT/IM projects, ensuring timelines & budgets are met
  • Liaise with Project Managers on Enterprise Wide project implementations to ensure smooth transition to operations and to provide guidance and advice on project plans/strategies
  • Consult with Site and Digital staff to alleviate issues prior to their development into problems, by bringing the resources of Digital to bear in resolving customer issues
  • Liaise with IT operations and project staff on understanding interdependencies of change management plans on Site business operations
  • Oversee local IT resources to ensure stability of day-to-day operations
  • Act as an escalation point for IT service issues and day to day operations during normal operating hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday; during non-business hours (e.g., nights/weekends); and carry a mobile phone as required
  • Facilitate strategic project planning process and prioritization (demand process) by assisting with project requests, scoping, budgeting and business case development
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed
  • Formulate IT plans in conjunction with others to ensure continual improvements to IT environment
  • Serve as an Incident Management escalation point for communication to regarding system availability and performance
  • Contribute to Capital planning and Operational budgeting activities
  • Liaise with project staff on understanding interdependencies of change management plans on site business operations.
  • Maintain responsibility for ensuring proper documentation standards are adhered to as it relates to defining: user requirements, functional and non-functional specifications, change management, operations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) or Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).
  • Documents and submits change requests in support of both the strategic and operating plans for infrastructure changes in keeping with Digital Change Management Process.
  • Work with Digital Operational teams to review performance and capacity trends and make recommendations to improve infrastructure system performance.
  • Act as 3rd level support to incident management in the areas of operating systems, hardware infrastructure, data backup.
  • Provide technical subject matter expert support to incident management and lead problem management activities to proactively mitigate risk to the Digital IT environment.
  • Evaluate hardware and/or software and reports significant findings to the management team.
  • Provide systems guidance, direction, setting of priorities and system services to the site while fostering the development of high professional standards for systems personnel.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree program in business, information management, engineering, computer science or recognized equivalent required.
  • Five years practical and related experience and/or on-the-job training required.
  • Five or more years experience in successfully managing Information Technology/Management projects.
  • 3 to 5 years line management experience preferred, including staff supervision and performance management.
  • Graduate level degree is very desirable in computer science, business administration or related field.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to develop in-depth knowledge of the site operations and IT requirements;
  • Experience working in collaboration with other Digital managers to ensure successful service delivery
