Forbes Bros is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic Full Time/Permanent to support our Acheson AB location.

Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Shop Mechanic repairs and overhauls heavy vehicles and industrial equipment at our Acheson location shop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems and components on a variety of equipment including but not limited to tractor-trailer units and large commercial vehicles.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Assist with troubleshooting of electrical systems and components
• Maintain service truck and keep stocked with tools and spare parts
• Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new project sites
• Responsible for maintaining the service truck log books
• Responsible for creating and updating work orders within Viewpoint
• Maintain shop tools and work area
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned

What We Are Looking For:

• Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, or a combination of education and experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• 3-5 years related experience
• Self-directed, outgoing personality and a team player
• Well organized with attention to detail
• Service orientated with strong communication skills
• Ability to deal effectively with others in a diverse environment
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage timelines effectively
• Able and willing to present a valid Driver's License in good standing
• Background check requirements if applicable
