We are looking for Instrument Mechanic for our Whitby location. Shift: Continental shift and Wage:$45.78 +$3.00 per hour retention bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, commission and repair DCS/QCS control equipment and systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, diagnose, calibrate and repair control instruments.
  • Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications
  • Test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments
  • Determine test and maintenance procedures for instruments used for measuring and controlling flow, level, pressure, temperature, paper quality, etc. in manufacturing and processing
  • Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and DCS/QCS components, or remove and replace defective parts
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports
  • Install control and measurement instruments on existing and new plant equipment and processes
  • Consult with and advise process operators.
  • Work within a team to provide support for the production line to troubleshoot and repair breakdowns
  • Follow acts, regulations, and codes related to facilities, equipment, environment protection, and Health and Safety at all times
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (Metso)
  • Knowledge of PLC's is an asset

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an Instrument Mechanic role
  • Industrial Instrument Mechanic Trade Certification 447
  • Applicants with completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training in Industrial Instrumentation Technician/Technology will also be considered
  • Paper Industry is Preferred
  • Superior interpersonal, problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of computer applications, MS-Office, CAD
  • Positive attitude and hard-working, team player
  • Be a self-starter
