We're fixers - we've been rebuilding heavy equipment components for over 20 years. We dismantle whole equipment such as excavators, wheel loaders and rock trucks on site, rebuild the components to their original specifications, and test them on our in-house test bench. POSITION SUMMARY

This position's primary responsibility is facilitating all aspects of parts and equipment fabrication and repairs as needed. The Welder will also be responsible for supporting the production department in other duties as required. This position is full-time.

This is a full-time position for 40 hours/week and 8 hours/weekday. Work hours are between Mon - Fri 7:00am - 3:30 pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Repair equipment and attachments as required.

· Keep a safe and organized fab shop.

· GMAW Welding of a variety of steel products in a safe and efficient manner.

· Inspecting for metal fatigue, cracks, delamination, straightness

· Using computer system to update notes and reference pictures

· Writing detailed reports for inspection findings and other projects

· Operating heavy equipment including forklift, telehandler, loader, excavator and skid steer

· Designing and drawing fabrication plans for metal pallets, rolling cards, racking, building improvements and stands

· Ordering welding supplies including gasses, consumables, metal

· Estimating and quoting for metal with expected timeframes

· Ensuring work meets quality expectations.

· Welder setup for differing material thicknesses and weld-callouts.

· Safe and efficient use of supportive tools such as grinders, jigs/fixtures etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience

· 2+ years of GMAW welding experience is preferred

· High attention to detail

· Proven team player

· Strong work ethic

· Familiar with measuring equipment

· Stick, TIG and MIG welding experience is an asset

· Valid CWB ticket would be an asset, but experienced welders will be considered

· Capable of lifting 30-50 pounds with relative ease

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds and up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is exposed to moderate to loud noise environments and will be required to operate various heavy equipment, such as forklifts.
