Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in solution architecture within large, complex organizations and will bring a wealth of technical and analytical expertise. A minimum of 10 years of experience in the energy industry, particularly oil and gas, is required. Additionally, experience with Operations Technology (OT) and integration technologies such as APIs is highly desirable. This role involves providing strategic and technical leadership, ensuring that our on-premises and cloud solutions adhere to industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Architectural Development: Develop and architect comprehensive solutions from the ground up, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical requirements, and industry best practices.
• Strategic Leadership: Partner with internal stakeholders to provide strategic and technical leadership, ensuring that solutions are scalable, maintainable, usable, performative, secure, and portable.
• Analytical Skills: Utilize strong analytical and interpretive skills to understand complex issues, policies, regulatory requirements, and industry information impacting the organization.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks on projects.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional IT systems/application teams, technical leads, and technology vendors to manage ongoing implementation activities.
• Continuous Improvement: Maintain and update the enterprise technology landscape and technology reference architecture.
• Cybersecurity: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to complete security threat risk assessments and address security vulnerabilities.
• Integration Expertise: Design and implement integration solutions, leveraging APIs and other technologies to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between systems.
• Communication & Collaboration: Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Motivate teams to apply their skills and techniques to solve dynamic and complex problems.
• Business Acumen: Understand business needs and drivers, establishing and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence through service provision.
• Technical Guidance: Provide expert guidance and support for complex technical issues that cannot be resolved by other teams, ensuring timely and efficient problem resolution.
• Project Governance: Enable project governance and controls in collaboration with the IT Project Management Office.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 10 years of progressive experience in a solution architecture role within the energy industry, particularly oil and gas.
• Technical Expertise:
  • 10+ years of large-scale business application implementation experience in both on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Experience with CRM systems or other similar platforms.
  • Experience with database technologies and data migration activities.
  • Experience with integration technologies, including APIs.
• Methodologies:
• Familiarity with TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks
• Understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
• Experience working on Agile & Waterfall methodologies.
