Role Summary

The Senior AI/ML Engineer will lead AI/ML projects, from presales to delivery, contributing technical expertise and leadership. This role requires hands-on implementation of AI/ML models, infrastructure optimization, and close collaboration with teams and clients. The ideal candidate will also contribute to thought leadership and practice development, ensuring Avahi stays ahead in the competitive AI/ML landscape.

Key Responsibilities

1. Presales Engineering

• Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements.
• Design and present custom ML/AI solutions and proposals to clients.
• Provide technical expertise during the presales process.
• Deliver level-of-effort estimates and technical scopes within a 5-day SLA.

2. Hands-on Delivery

• Lead implementation of AI/ML projects from concept to deployment.
• Build and optimize machine learning models and algorithms.
• Ensure successful integration and deployment of solutions.

3. Content Creation and Thought Leadership

• Develop technical content such as blog posts, whitepapers, and documentation.
• Conduct webinars, workshops, and technical events to share expertise.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

4. Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Products

• Develop POCs to demonstrate the value of AI/ML solutions.
• Collaborate with product teams to turn POCs into scalable solutions.
• Continuously improve existing products for market competitiveness.

5. Time Management

• Maintain weekly timesheets to track project and presales activities.
• Allocate time efficiently between delivery, presales, and practice development.

6. Team Collaboration

• Work with data scientists, engineers, and project managers to ensure quality.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in hiring efforts.

7. Client Relationship Management

• Build strong client relationships and understand their business needs.
• Provide ongoing support to ensure project success.

8. Documentation and Reporting

• Document project progress, technical designs, and implementation details.
• Generate reports to support project outcomes and future reference.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 7 years in AI/ML engineering.

Technical Skills:

• Building AI/ML models using SageMaker, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Developing MLOps pipelines in SageMaker or MLflow.
• Optimizing and deploying AI/ML models for real-time and batch workflows.
• Integrating LLMs and using Hugging Face with SageMaker.
• Expertise in AWS services (e.g., Glue, EMR, Athena, DynamoDB, StepFunctions, EKS).
• Strong understanding of data integration, transformation, and visualization using Python and SQL.
• Experience with IaC tools (e.g., CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform).
• Familiarity with Vector Databases, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and MMLU.

Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, client engagement, and team leadership abilities.

Bonus:

• Familiarity with AWS pre-trained AI services and foundational models.
• AWS certifications or relevant cloud technology certifications.
• Proven experience contributing to open-source projects.
