If you enjoy fast paced, hands on work, this position is for you! Caron Transportation Systems is currently seeking a Journeyperson Welder to join our Sherwood Park Team. Reporting to the Welding Shop Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing welding repairs to trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with Caron Transportation Systems standards. Additionally, they are responsible for providing all the equipment maintenance requirements set out in the Caron Transportation Systems Maintenance Manual.

Job Duties:

• Join or sever metals in vessels and other metal components, make metal parts for trailers/trucks, and weld parts, tools, and equipment
• Use different welding processes and fillers depending upon the type of metal, its size and shape, and requirements for finished product strength
• Develop patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts, blueprints and work orders
• Clean, check for defects and shape component parts
• Weld parts together
• Read and understand work orders, task procedures, and interpret technical manuals
• Perform pre-active and post active duties in regards to new tractor and trailer units and those being prepared for sale
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by Caron Transport and the industry as a whole
• Be familiar with the work in related trades such as Mechanic (Trailer) and Mechanic (Truck & Transport)

Safety Responsibilities:

• Participate in all safety related, compliance, and regulatory programs and education
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with the Caron QMS and production standards required by the Company and the industry as a whole
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor/management

• Has an impeccable safety record both on and off the clock.
