Ruth and Naomi's Mission (RAN) is a Christian faith-based organization with a vision and commitment to see the lives of people experiencing homelessness, poverty, and struggling with addiction transformed by the love of God. The Office Assistant is responsible for assisting in day-to-day administration. This is a support role and is expected to primarily self-manage time and work independently.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operates as the first contact for external parties contacting the organization, responding to all queries in a friendly, informative, and timely manner, escalating to the appropriate contact if required; this includes but is not limited to the RAN info email, main phone lines, and in-person contacts where relevant;
  • Create, compile, and edit documentation as requested, ensuring work is free from errors, timely, formatted within Branding Guidelines, and encompasses all relevant information;
  • Manage electronic and physical records, filing and distributing information as appropriate;
  • Collate data as required, maintaining, and updating as necessary;
  • Support volunteer program as directed by the Community Engagement Coordinator;
  • Research and compile information as directed;
  • Support on task management as requested, following up on outstanding documentation and forms, and supporting on form completion if required;
  • Aid in organization and execution of both internal and external events, supporting fundraisers and donor events as directed;
  • Create templates and forms as directed;
  • Manage organizational room and vehicle bookings, with the exception of Family Centre spaces;
  • Facilitate transportation and delivery of items and supplies on a timely and proactive basis;
  • Provide Family Centre front desk coverage as directed;
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Assets & Experience

  • High proficiency in the Microsoft suite and able to learn new software and technology quickly;
  • Excellent time and task management skills;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Confident self-starter and team player.

Discretion is a requirement for this role; this position will be privy to confidential information and is expected to maintain appropriate boundaries both internally and externally.

Compensation

$22 - $24 per hour based on skills
