Construction Labourer – Job Site Location: Ottawa Area

Westview Projects is a general contracting company that operates in Eastern Ontario. Headquartered in Ottawa, Westview Projects specializes in offering construction management services to institutional, commercial, multi-residential and retail clients.

As a member of the Westview Projects team, the Labourer will support all aspects of the project and reports directly to the Superintendent.

Job Title: Labourer (full-time)

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, including drills, forklifts, skid loaders and other tools as directed by supervisor.
• Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, including erecting scaffolding, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.
• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.
• Lead and follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management, safety director, foreman or HR, in accordance with company's incident reporting procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
• Building Hoardings, guard rails and access stairs as required
• Complete snow removal as required
• Manage and maintain all tools and requirement
• Other duties as assigned
