Our Nuclear Services office in OSHAWA, ON, is looking for a hardworking, results-oriented, and professional Modification Team Lead (MTL) to join our team.

Summary of the Role:

The Modification Team Lead will work with the Project Managers, Schedulers, and project execution teams to coordinate detailed design and construction work plans including the coordinating of project plan updates to ensure the project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

MTL

  • Prepare project EC for markups of all non-design documents such as operations, maintenance, and training documents
  • Prepare TPARS for affected operations, maintenance, and training documents
  • Coordinate detailed design activities with DTL
  • Obtain weekly status reports from Engineering Service Provider(s)
  • Setup and chair COMS meetings
  • Review, concur and control the revision of the release plan
  • Initiate MRs, If required for free issue material
  • Inform assessing of changes to design EC (FIC or intend)
  • Initiate TCRs for TMODs
  • Fill in the FTL role (MTL = FTL)
  • Establish the AFS/OPS acceptance strategy ahead of time
  • Coordinate the preparation of the work plans
  • Ensure new Cat-IDs have been set to READY prior to start of installation
  • Set the Design EC to ACTIVE status when installation starts
  • Review ITF frequently
  • Develop Installation and AFS strategy
  • Prepare detailed commissioning specs and reports
  • Include work plans and WOs under the applicable Design EC XRef
  • Document any installation issues on the ITF and champion resolution of issues
  • Collaborate with DTL on FIC or Intend change (Follow ES FOX FIC process)
  • Arrange post installation walk down with all stakeholders
  • Provide installation and commissioning oversight
  • Ensure all FICs are included in an EC revision prior to AFS (Follow ES FOX FIC process)
  • Prepare and coordinate all of the AFS activities (e.g. AFS Report, AFS Declaration Form, AFS walk down and meeting)Coordinate TMOD removal
  • Coordinate Closeout activities (Design ECs and Master ECs)
  • Perform oversight on Design subcontractors
  • Prepare installation and commissioning workplans and procedures as needed
  • Update operations and maintenance procedures as required to reflect the changes from the modification
  • Perform constructability reviews on all design packages to ensure the design is easily and efficiently constructible, and procurable.
  • Work closely with the project management team to develop construction strategy while ensuring appropriate input from the engineering group for all the project phases.
  • Coordinates with the engineering teams and any subcontractors for their packages of work
  • Attend and participate in planning meetings with the design subcontractors to ensure that an efficient engineering design schedule and comprehensive list of deliverables is being provided, per phase of engineering design
  • Chairing design meetings and ensuring that schedules are progressing as planned
  • Managing vendor documentation and data including drawings and specifications
  • Manage resolution of Technical issues, with/for other project stakeholders
  • Ensures Punch Lists are properly defined and resolved prior to commissioning, Start-up and Contractor demobilization, including Available for service/Turnover, and project close-out activities
  • Attend all project meetings and perform site surveys or walk-outs as necessary to ensure availability and accuracy of basic design information, either from surveys, 3D models or customer technical scopes of work
  • Collate and keep up to date detailed design risk register and advise project team of risks that may affect site safety, costs, schedules, and client relations
  • Additional duties as required

Workplan Preparation

  • Conduct an initial meeting with applicable stakeholders
  • Prepare installation and commissioning Work Plans in accordance with the Design ECs and feedback from stakeholders
  • Organize more meetings if required
  • Submit WPs to applicable stakeholders for review and comments
  • Incorporate comments and route for signatures
  • Issue WP in Asset Suite
  • Review design EC revisions for impact on WPs
  • Ensuring Work and revision plans are accurate and up to date.
  • Ensures all stakeholders are provided with WPs for review and approval
  • Ensures safety policy and OSHA guidelines are followed.

Key Requirements, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline would be an asset
  • 3-5 years' of experience in a similar construction scheduling or equivalent combination of training and related construction experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of scheduling, job costing, and project tracking systems
  • Must have strong technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Software (MS Project, Primavera etc.)
  • Previous construction site experience is an asset
