Talbot & Associates (T&A) is a bilingual Accounting Firm (CPA) founded in Manitoba that has been serving its clients since 1991. WHO YOU ARE:

  • A warm and positive individual, who is intrinsically motivated and who demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An individual with strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads and effectively manage tight deadlines.
  • Someone with meticulous attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
  • A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain effective working relationships with both staff and clients.
  • An individual who understands the importance of maintaining privacy and trust with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
  • Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
  • Resourcefulness and flexibility.
  • Familiarity with general principles of accounting, which could be demonstrated through experience or education.
  • Minimum two years of relevant bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong computer skills, with expertise in QuickBooks Online.
  • The ability to learn quickly and accept feedback.
  • The ability to use various financial transactions such as accounts payables and accounts receivable.
  • Bilingualism (French/English), which is considered an asset but not required.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual bookkeeping for small businesses in a variety of industries, including processing transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Prepare sales tax returns, including reasonability tests and reconciliations.
  • Prepare personal tax returns.
  • Maintain timely communications with clients and colleagues and maintain positive relationships.
  • Self-manage workload and projects.
  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.
