YOUTH WORKER (FULL-TIME)
POSITIONS: PERMANENT
HOURS: TUESDAY - SATURDAY 12-8 PM
WAGE: $50,000.00 - $57,000.00
DEADLINE: December 6, 2024
As a Youth and Recreation Worker, you will play a key role in developing and implementing engaging programs and activities for the youth of Eagle Lake First Nation. Your efforts will help to create a safe, fun, and enriching environment that encourages personal growth, cultural appreciation, and community involvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, plan, and lead recreational programs and activities for youth of various age groups.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all youth feel valued and supported.
- Organize and facilitate events that promote cultural heritage, wellness, and social skills.
- Collaborate with community members, schools, and organizations to enhance program offerings and reach a wider audience.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to youth, addressing their needs and concerns with empathy and respect.
- Maintain accurate records of program participation and provide regular reports to the community leadership.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by following established guidelines and protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Recreation Management, Child Development) is an asset.
- Experience working with youth in a recreational or educational setting.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures and traditions, particularly those relevant to Eagle Lake First Nation.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and creativity.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Criminal Record Check

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
