About SABI Mind
SABI Mind represents a collective recognition of the global mental health crisis and the promise of new healing. We are a dedicated, practitioner-led organization supporting those discouraged by conventional methods or seeking new ways of healing with safe, evidence-based and accessible psychedelic-assisted therapies.
At its core, SABI relies on human connection. It is empathy in action, trained medical professionals and practitioners providing the latest forms of ketamine-assisted therapies for chronic pain management and retractable mental health conditions.
How you can help and what we can accomplish together
As a key member of SABI's clinical team, you'll be responsible for providing mental health and chronic pain nursing care to the guests of our healing centre. This requires thorough knowledge of primary and secondary care within the scope of BCCNM. Areas of practice include assessing mental health issues, administering medication, providing community resources, monitoring guests, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Patient mental health and medical assessment and treatment, along with the review of medications
- Triaging acute concerns and providing anticipatory guidance as needed
- Develop, assess, implement and evaluate care plans for all consultations
- Ability to provide quality, safe and compassionate care to all guests
- Communication and collaboration with all members of the interdisciplinary team
- Follow up on medical collateral if needed
- Dose, administer and monitor ketamine treatments (training provided)
- Order, properly store and log ketamine in accordance with the Schedule I Controlled Drugs and Substance Act of Canada
- Provide informed consent to clients receiving treatment
- Monitor clients, including but not limited to taking vitals and managing potential side effects
- Uphold HIA laws, maintain guest files and confidentiality
- Participate in ongoing internal and external training and continuing education initiatives
- Participate in weekly meetings
- Contribute to company projects during clinic downtime
- Participate in the onboarding of new team members
Let's Talk About You
- NP Certification and License in good standing
- Active registration and practice permit with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives
- Current BCLS-HCP
- Current ACLS
- Therapsil training is an asset
- Clinical experience in a semi-independent practice role in the care of mental health and chronic pain guests
- Strong knowledge of current guidelines, standards of practice and medical directives
- Ability to demonstrate proactive and preventative approaches to care
- Administrative and computer skills are an asset (EMR, Microsoft Office and Google Workplace)
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Guest-centred and trauma-informed approach to care
- Passion for learning
- Authentic, focused presence, intuitive sensitivity and respect for different life trajectories
- Comfortable with new environments and the ability to adapt to evolving processes
- Lived and/or integrated experiences informing a deeper understanding of treatment are welcomed
