Position: Process Engineer
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Scope of Work
Process Engineer responsibilities are to develop, implement, monitor, and articulate manufacturing processes and workflow, liaison between engineering, quality and customer to meet their requirements
Job Responsibilities
- Follow and recommend improvements to the ISO9001 and AS/EN9100 policies and procedures
- Interpret customer drawings and specifications
- Create internal and external workflow process (Routers)
- Create BOM's and associated raw material items
- Create internal inspection plans
- Design, implement and maintain post machining process (Part marking, shot peening, tumbling, parts cleaning)
- Create and or assist with customer RFQ's. Create proper workflow and machine cycle times to ensure accurate customer quotes.
- Be the face of Engineering during internal, customer or third-party audits
- Liaison with Customers during visits, builds, NPI activities, process/system audits
- Ensure great customer relations are developed and maintained
- Provide written technical responses to customers on design engineering clarifications and or quality issues as well as performing ongoing reporting to customers
- Clearly and consistently communicate customer Quality expectations to the Organization
- Lead/ coordinate cross-functional NPI teams on product launches, apply lessons learned to continuously improve the NPI process
- Assisting or Leading cross-functional team to investigate quality issues and recommend technical solutions
- Recommend and implement any CI activities
- Strong working knowledge of CAPA problem solving and root cause analysis
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to conduct and/or participate in internal training programs and attend external training as required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques
- Conviction to improve personally and support continuous improvement in the department and company as a whole
- High level of personal integrity
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - effective time management skills
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed while having the ability to work seamlessly within a cross functional team environment
- Close working knowledge of GD&T requirements and strong metrology skills
- Intermediate level computer skills using MS Office Suite of programs
- Have training and knowledge of MOL safety requirements including WHIMS
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of three years in Community College with Technology diploma or an Engineering degree preferred.
- Training: Provided as needed
- Skills: Ability to learn in team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience: Minimum 1 – 2 years in manufacturing environment
